(Extract) duration 00:59 An excerpt from a 17th century Spanish psalm-setting, alternating between choir and the chromatic Spanish arpa de dos ordenes. Performed in the Collegiate Church of San Pedro in Lerma, Spain, as part of a reconstruction of the First Vespers and Salve Service as it was performed in the presence of King Philip III and the Duke of Lerma. This, his best known composition, is more familiar today under its Irish title: Tabhair Dom do Lámh [Give me your hand]. This performance incorporates a variant, which appeared in the Collection of Ancient Scots Music published by Daniel Dow c.1776.
