The Irish Baroque Orchestra, led by artistic director and Grammy award nominee Monica Huggett (violin), with special guests Siobhan Armstrong (Irish harp) and Peter Whelan (bassoon) will perform in the US this March (7-10th) in a tour, taking them to Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York. Ireland's Golden Age presents a unique and vivacious musical snapshot of 18th-century Dublin. A thriving cultural centre at the time, Dublin attracted composers from all over Europe and the city also supported a traditional Irish music scene that flourished through the prodigious output of the legendary Irish harpers. Join the orchestra for a fascinating glimpse of Ireland's history, in a critically acclaimed period performance described by the press as “brilliantly skillful”, and "marvellously crafted music". See http://www.irishbaroqueorchestra.com for further details. This tour is supported by Culture Ireland.
